Welcome to Cactus Bloom Design



Cactus Bloom Design is a small hand crafted jewelry company based in Tucson, Arizona. All pieces are handmade by me, Celeste Mills.
I am one of the few silversmiths and the first female silversmith from the Pascua Yaqui Tribe of Arizona. My jewelry pieces are feminine, delicate and modern. My pieces are inspired by the flowers, plants and landscapes of the Sonoran Desert. The Sonoran Desert is teeming with life and beauty offering an endless source of inspiration.



About the Jewelry



Hand Engraved



Each piece starts with my original sketches of the desert plants that I love, like Saguaros, Agave, and cactus flowers. After sketching, I meticulously hand carve each sterling silver piece so no two are exactly alike. Just like nature each is perfectly imperfect. All hand engraved pieces are signed and hallmarked "CMills" .925.



Feminine & Modern



I make jewelry that is comfortable for every day. It is beautiful, delicate, modern and feminine. I want the person wearing my jewelry to feel beautiful in it.


Many of my pieces feature my signature Desert Flowers or "Sewa". The flowers are not only lovely, but powerful symbols of goodness, protection, and blessings to the Yoeme - Yaqui people.



Real



I am an enrolled member of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe of Arizona so my pieces are genuine Native American jewelry. All components are Sterling Silver or 14k Gold-filled. I only use genuine, natural colored (never dyed or pressed) Turquoise from Arizona, the Southwest, and Sonora, Mexico.

About the Artist - Celeste Mills



I've been in business since 2001. I am a self-taught silversmith and artist. I love experimenting with innovative techniques, materials, and designs. My primary source of inspiration is the beautiful Sonoran Desert landscape that surrounds my home in Tucson, Arizona.

I grew up in the Sonoran Desert, which stretches from Southern Arizona into Northern Mexico. I love all of the plants, cacti, flowers, landscapes, and cultures of this area. They are all part of who I am.
My own cultures, Yaqui (Yoeme) and Mexican (my father is from Sonora, Mexico) are influences in my work, especially flowers, which are not only beautiful, but sacred and powerful symbols of goodness, abundance, and protection to my tribe, the Yoeme / Yaqui people.

As one of the few Yaqui silversmiths, I am free to invent my own style and create pieces that are totally original yet incorporate traditional symbols like flowers. I get to explore my own design aesthetic using my own influences. I make what I love and what I would want to wear. The result is a line of Native American Jewelry that is original, beautiful, delicate, modern and feminine.
